Our ticket to free diapers for life

When our first daughter was born, we were amazed at how many diapers we used! My wife had no interest in using cloth diapers, so we went through boxes and boxes of disposables. And when I had to pay for trash service (we normally burn our trash) because diapers won’t burn, I joked that I had to pay to catch their crap and pay to get rid of it!

We were very lucky to have a church that hosted a diaper shower for us, so our initial supply was covered. But within a few months we had to buy our own.

And that’s when my wife discovered she could donate milk and get paid. I know, it doesn’t make sense to say donate and get paid in the same sentence, but that’s how this deal works.

So my wife started pumping (mainly to have a bottle for night feedings) and had a LOT of extra which we were able to donate. But that donation paid us $1/ounce! So a 6-ounce bag was worth $6!!

We were blessed to be able to donate nearly 3,000 ounces while my wife was nursing/pumping. And we earmarked that money for diapers, clothes and any miscellaneous items our daughter needed. Talk about keeping the budget safe!!

If you’re able to contribute, we highly recommend Prolacta and the great work they do for providing milk to premature babies. Their detailed approval process ensures that milk received is highly quality and in return you get a nice little compensation to buy diapers, pay down debt or just have some extra fun money (ONLY if you’re already done the other two).
